This policy sets out our privacy practices and explains how we handle the information we collect when you visit and use the site, services or tools provided by Verse (“Verse Services”). By using our site, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Please read it carefully.

What we may collect

We collect information about what Verse pages you access or visit, information about your mobile device (such as device or browser type), information volunteered by you (such as through registration), the URLs of websites that referred you to us, access times, and e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via email.

When you log into the Verse site or load a web page from Verse, we collect and store your Internet Protocol address. We may use this information to fight spam, malware, and identity theft; to personalize Verse Services for you; or to generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use Verse Services.

When you create your Verse account, and authenticate via a third-party service like Facebook, we may collect, store, and periodically update the contact lists associated with that third-party account, so that we can make it easy for you to connect with your existing contacts from that service who are also on Verse.

Email communications with us

We may occasionally need to email you some administrative info, tell you something important about your account or changes to our services, or update you on new policies. These administrative communications are considered a basic part of Verse Services, and you may not be able to opt out from receiving them. You can always opt out of non-administrative emails.

How we use the information we collect

The information we collect is used to provide and improve Verse Services and to:

  • manage your account

  • perform research and analysis about your use of Verse Services

  • communicate with you about Verse Services

  • develop and display content and advertising tailored to your interests on our site

  • enforce our terms and conditions; and to

  • manage our business.

In the future, we may use financial information or payment methods to process payment for subscriptions or sales made on our site and otherwise as needed to manage our business.

With whom we share your information

We may share your personal information with:

  • Authorized service providers. We may share your personal information with our authorized service providers that perform certain services on our behalf.  These service providers may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions but are not permitted to share or use such information for any other purposes.

A cookie is a small piece of text, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, sent to and saved by your web browser when you access a website.

We use cookies to enable our servers to recognize your web browser and tell us how and when you use Verse Services. We use cookies to identify whether you have logged in and recognize that your web browser has accessed aspects of Verse Services, and we may associate that information with your account if you have one. This information, in turn, is sometimes used to personalize your experiences on Verse when you are logged in. We may use other standard Internet technology, such as web beacons, to track your use of our site.  We may also include web beacons in email messages to measure the deliverability of our emails. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize the services we offer to users of our site and to measure the effectiveness of our online advertising, content or other activities.

Most browsers have an option for disabling cookies, but if you disable them you may not be able to sign in or use some of the interactive features offered on our site.

We respect (“DNT”) settings in browsers. If you are logged out of our services and have DNT enabled, we will not set cookies that can be used to aggregate information about your usage. We may use some cookies to enhance your experience by storing preferences or options.

Information collected by third parties

We may allow third-parties, including our authorized partners, advertising companies, and ad networks to display advertisements on our site.  These companies may use tracking technologies such as cookies to collect information about users who view or interact with their advertisements.  This information allows them to deliver targeted advertisements and gauge their effectiveness.   Those third parties may have their own privacy policies that describe how they use and disclose personal information.  Those policies will govern use, handling and disclosure of your personal information once it is collected.

Modifying your personal information or deleting your account

If you are a registered Verse user, you can access or modify your personal information or delete your account.

We aim to maintain our services in a manner that protects information from accidental or malicious destruction. This means that after you delete information from our services, we may not immediately delete residual copies from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems.

How we protect your personal information

We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data transmitted to and from our site. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee the absolute security of this data. You use the service at your own risk, and you are responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account (such as keeping your password secret).

User submissions

We provide areas on our site where you can upload content, post comments, and communicate with others.  Such postings are governed by our Terms of Use.  That information will be publicly available and we cannot control who reads your posting or what others may do with information that you voluntarily post.  We encourage you to exercise discretion with respect to your personal information.  Once you have posted information, you may not be able to edit or delete it.


Verse Services are intended for general audiences and are not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account.

Changes to this policy

Verse may periodically update this policy. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your Verse account or by placing a prominent notice on our site before the changes take effect.

The most current version of the policy will always be and we will archive former versions of the policy.
