Bears Ears National Monument was created through decades of effort by a coalition of tribes including the Hopi, Navajo, Ute, Ute Mountain Ute and Zuni tribal governments. Bears Ears was created to ensure lasting protection for unique historic and contemporary cultural sites, some dating back as far as 12,000 BC. Less than one year later, Trump has signed an order to fragment and shrink Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Monuments, once again making them vulnerable to looting and mining operations. He did this without visiting the monuments, nor did he consult with the tribes. The tribes and a broad coalition of non profits and businesses are now suing Donald Trump. Stand With Bears Ears!
